The Ditch Chickens are a band located in Knoxville, Tennessee playing traditional and contemporary Country and Southern Rock music. Familiar favorites by Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Dwight Yoakam to name a few, as well as songs by artists you forgot you enjoyed like Mel McDaniel, Hal Ketchum and Keith Whitley. Throw some Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band and Allman Brothers Band into the mix and you’ll have an idea of our style. Whether you want to get up and dance or sit back and just enjoy a drink and listen to great music, we think you’ll find we play something for everybody.
Meet The Band
Michael and Nick share guitar duties in the band. Michael’s overdriven riffs and Nick’s “twangy bits” make up the hooks, progressions and sonic expression of the music we play.
Brian is a multi-instrumentalist who holds down the low end groove bridging the gap between the harmonies and the rhythm. Of course he might have the opportunity to show off his other talents on pedal steel, mandolin or guitar as the need arises.
David sits in the back on his throne, keeping the pulse of each song alive with his drums. He is the keeper of the beat, the taskmaster of the tempo and overall energy of the songs we play.
